How can we help?
Email support@dreamingabovelabs.com. We aim to answer ordinary support requests within two business days and prioritize credible safety reports.
Immediate safety
There You Were is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For concerning content or conduct, use the in-app Report and Block controls so the relevant account and content identifiers reach moderation.
Frequently asked questions
How do I create a post?
Open Post, tap Start Your Post, choose a public venue or general area, add the encounter date and approximate time, describe the moment, select a category, review the safety confirmation, and post.
Why do I need an anonymous account?
An account keeps your posts, responses, conversations, reports, and blocks private and correctly associated without requiring contact information. It is created only when you use an account-gated feature.
Can my account be recovered?
Not currently. The account is tied to the session stored on your device. Do not sign out or delete the app if you need continued access. Support normally cannot locate or restore an anonymous account after its device session is lost.
How do I close or delete a post?
Open Profile, select the post under My Posts, then choose Close Post or Delete Post. Closing removes it from public discovery while preserving your account record; deleting removes the post and associated responses.
How do private replies work?
A person can send one initial response to an active post. Only the post author and responder can see it. Further messaging opens only after the author accepts the response.
How do I report or block someone?
Open the relevant post or response and use its safety menu. Reporting sends the content identifier, reason, and optional details to moderation. Blocking stops interaction and hides content between the accounts.
Why am I not receiving notifications?
Check Profile for notification status and registration errors, then confirm notifications are allowed for There You Were in iOS Settings. Notifications require an active device session and network connection.
How do I delete my account?
Open Profile, choose Delete Account, and confirm permanent deletion. This deletes the anonymous account and associated posts, responses, conversations, blocks, reports, and notification tokens. This cannot be undone.
How do I turn analytics off?
Open Profile and turn off Share anonymous usage analytics. The preference remains on the device unless the app’s local data is removed.
