How we handle information when you use SongSeed.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Dreaming Above Labs (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the SongSeed mobile application (“App”) and when you visit our SongSeed web pages on GitHub Pages (the “Site”). By using the App or the Site, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information stored on your device
Depending on how you use SongSeed, the App may store information locally on your device, such as:
- Preferences and settings (for example, UI state or feature options you choose)
- Content you create or save in the App (for example, drafts, notes, or saved prompts)
- Identifiers related to purchases managed through Apple, where applicable
Music discovery and Apple Music
SongSeed may use the Apple Music catalog on your device to search for and identify music as part of the App’s features. That interaction is subject to Apple’s terms and privacy practices. We do not operate a web streaming service on this Site; playback and catalog access occur in the App through Apple’s ecosystem as applicable.
Content you submit for features
To provide song analysis, inspiration workflows, lyrics assistance, and production-style prompts, you may submit text, selections, or other inputs. Depending on the feature, some or all of this information may be processed on your device and/or transmitted to our service providers to generate results. We design the App to collect only what is needed to provide the feature you use.
Usage and diagnostics
We may collect usage and diagnostics information to improve the App, such as app opens, session duration, feature usage, crash reports, and device or OS version. Depending on your settings, this may be collected through platform or third-party analytics tools. Where available, analytics may be aggregated or de-identified.
This website (analytics)
When you visit SongSeed pages on the Site, we may use third-party analytics (for example, Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager) similar to our other web pages, subject to the provider’s policies and your browser or device controls.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Song Analysis, the Full Inspiration Workflow, and related features
- Process transactions and manage subscriptions or purchases through Apple, where applicable
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the App
- Monitor reliability, security, and performance; detect abuse; and comply with law
Third-party services
The App and Site may rely on third parties (for example, Apple, analytics providers, cloud or AI infrastructure used to power certain features). Each provider applies its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review Apple’s privacy information and the policies of any provider shown in the App’s settings or documentation.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards, when required by law, or to protect our rights and users’ safety.
Retention
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, unless a longer period is required by law. Local data on your device remains until you delete it or remove the App, subject to your device backup behavior.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your information, or to object or port data. You can adjust permissions in iOS Settings, manage Apple Media & Apple Music settings per Apple’s controls, and contact us using the email below. You may also use industry opt-out tools for interest-based ads where applicable.
Children
SongSeed is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
International users
If you use the App from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on the Site and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App or Site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
