This document outlines the terms and conditions for using the Let's Hang mobile application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Let's Hang application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing the App.

2. Use of the Application

The Let's Hang App is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to misuse the application or assist anyone else to do so. Specifically, you agree:

To use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
Not to create false or misleading Hangs
Not to use the App to harass, threaten, or harm others
Not to share your account credentials with others
Not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
To respect the privacy and safety of other users

3. Location-Based Services

The App provides location-based services that require access to your device's location. By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that:

Location data is necessary for the core functionality of creating and discovering Hangs
You will not create Hangs at precise home addresses for public visibility
Location accuracy depends on your device's GPS and network connectivity
The App uses Apple MapKit for map services, which is subject to Apple's terms and conditions
You are responsible for your own safety when meeting others at Hang locations

Important Safety Notice: Always meet in public places and use your best judgment when attending Hangs. The App does not verify the identity or intentions of users, and you attend Hangs at your own risk.

4. User Conduct and Safety

You are responsible for your conduct while using the App. You agree to:

Treat all users with respect and kindness
Report any inappropriate behavior, harassment, or safety concerns using the in-app reporting feature
Use the blocking feature if you need to prevent a user from seeing your Hangs or contacting you
End your Hang immediately if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable
Not use the App to organize illegal activities

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in harmful behavior.

5. Hang Content and Responsibility

As a host of a Hang, you are responsible for:

The accuracy of the location and description of your Hang
Ensuring the location is appropriate and safe for meetups
Ending your Hang if you need to leave or if the situation becomes unsafe
Respecting the privacy of attendees

Hangs are short-lived (default 30 minutes visibility window) and are automatically removed after expiration. You can end a Hang at any time.

6. Friend Relationships

The App uses a bidirectional friend system where both users must accept a friend request to become friends. You agree to:

Only send friend requests to people you know or have a legitimate reason to connect with
Respect others' decisions to accept or decline friend requests
Not use friend requests to harass or spam other users

7. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and intellectual property within the Let's Hang App are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our express written permission.

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

The App will be available at all times or free from errors
The App will meet your specific requirements
The location services will be accurate or uninterrupted
Users will attend your Hangs or that Hangs will be safe

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the App, including but not limited to:

Personal injury or harm resulting from attending Hangs
Loss of data or information
Loss of profits or business opportunities
Inaccurate location data or map information

You acknowledge that you use the App and attend Hangs at your own risk and that we are not responsible for the conduct of other users or the safety of Hang locations.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another user.

12. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any other reason we deem necessary to protect the safety and integrity of the App and its users.

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon account deletion, your profile data and active Hangs will be removed, subject to our data retention policies as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after such changes signifies your acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
